The 8th Golden Plate Award Ceremony was held in Guangzhou W Hotel on October 25th, 2013. Representatives from famous real estate developer, design studio, media and other companies gathered together to enjoy the artistic enlightenment from this gala and establish an interactive platform for communication.

After an audition of three months, 77 projects were selected out of more than 300 projects to compete for the annual award for the best sampling house, best office design, best hotel design and best sales center. Mr. Ben Wu was one of the judges.

In discussing latest trend and fashion, Furnishing Asia Tends Book press conference was successfully convened in Hangzhou Continental Hotel.

Organized by US InDesign media group and Guangzhou Design Week, Furnishing Asia Trends Book press conference unveiled itself on September 18th 2013. Trend committee members including Dai Kun, AJ Schep, Zhen Shufen, Ben Goh, Ben Wu and Yuan Xin went onto the stage and shared their understanding of design trend and fashion with the audience, stirring up a new wave of media discussion of furnishing trend.

As one of the event organizers, Zhang Hongyi, executive director of Guangzhou Design Week, debut the stage and briefly introduced the background for the audience. He said,”2013 marks the 8th year anniversary of Guangzhou Design Week. This year we worked together with InDesign Group to create Furnishing Asia, followed by FA Trends Book, FA Elite and FA Views.

Mr. Ben Wu, founder of W+S Deco and China Art Deco trendsetter said, trend is sophisticated; because change in furnishing can vary greatly depending on different season and mood and design further expands the boundaries and possibilities of the change. As for design in China, how to embed modern concept into design while maintaining the element of China remains a hot topic for discussion in the industry.
As FA Trends Book came to the end, more than 100 participants were invited to a wine party put together by W+S Deco Hangzhou. During the party, elites of all stripes gathered together and exchanged ideas. The event helped to deepen W+S Deco brand awareness among industry peers.

The 2013 Furnishing Design Trend forum successfully came to an end during the China international home textiles and accessories (winter) exposition on August 28th 2013. Designers from home and abroad gathered together and discussed the latest trend in home furnishing, exchanged ideas on innovation design and interior design.

Design masters such as Song Tao, Lin Zongran, Li Bo, Ben Wu, Li Qunsheng attended the conference and shared thoughts about the book and funs in the design industry with other designers and media representatives in a lively atmosphere.

AD100 list, first released by Architectural Digest U.S. edition in 1990, recognizes 100 most influential designers in the architect and interior design industry based on their imagination, wisdom and inspiration. This year welcomes the arrival of AD 100 China, a summary of top 100 design elite in the country for the first time!

On May 31st, 2013, upon the two year anniversary of AD China and first launch of AD 100 list, Zhu Ji Ge, a famous Chinese opera pavilion located in Zhujiajiao, witnessed the release of the list. All the 100 architecture and interior designers nominated and recognized in AD 100 were there, receiving their honor. More than 300 guests including social celebrity and stars also attended the gala, a grand opening for an imaginative and thought-provoking designer party.
